5. Creative Way to Give Money
Buy a framed share of stock from OneShare.com: a lifetime membership to one’s favorite brand. It’s so creative and let's you celebrate a person’s special interest. This idea is great for everyone including kids. Some companies include Nordstrom’s, Starbucks, Playboy, Gymboree, Target and so many more. A free book is included to teach your kids about the value of money.
6. Personalized Gifts
It is always fun to receive a personalized gift with your name or initials on it! It's a way to make the gift recipient feel special and to give something that will stand out and be remembered. Some great inexpensive, personalized gifts that are useful to anyone are personalized labels and stationery from Vistaprint
. They have so many adorable options. For kids, there are neat personalized name books and plates and so much more at I See Me Personalized Children's Books.
7. Cheap Tickets for Quality Time Together
Theater tickets, concerts, cooking lessons and more…what's better than giving something that brings family and friends together? Check out Goldstar for half price tickets to all sorts of activities in your local area.
8. Photo Gifts
There are so many creative things you can do with photos to remember special people and moments. Personalized photo books are my favorite. I have made recipe books with all my favorite recipes and given them as gifts to co-workers. I have made books for my mother and mother-in-law with pictures of my family over a period of time; I inserted a line of a poem on each page. I have created word books for my son with pictures of him with different expressions, such as happy, sad, angry, curious, and excited. You can scan in old pictures and use them to remember those who are not here with us anymore. Check out Kodak Gallery for photo gifts such as calendars, mugs, bags, mouse pads, etc.
9. Sports & College Memorabilia
Men seem to be the hardest ones to find appropriate gifts for, so sports and college memorabilia are always my fall-back. It works great for kids too!I like this site Football Fanatics. There are also many unique options on Amazon
that I love for kids, such as team baby DVDs and my first text books for kids.
10. Memories that Last
Flip Video is a miniature camcorder with up to 120 minutes of footage. It is simple to record, download and share videos, even for beginners. There are no cords and it is super small. Best of all, the quality is actually very good. It’s a perfect gift for grandparents to give their kids so they can stay in touch and be present even if they live some distance away!
BONUS….for those who actually receive a holiday bonus this year
Do you want to splurge on your kids or grandchildren...and have no financial boundaries? I love Posh Tots luxury kids’ playhouses so much! Get your kids a backyard mansion, palace, movie theater, or firehouse. They will love it!

So, while we were home Noah's number one favorite thing to do was this video by Seasame Street. It is mostly all music and brings back tons of memories from my childhood...so it is not as annoying as most kids videos. The DVD included Ernie's classic "Rubber Duckie" (really, who doesn't know the words to that?), Oscar's anthemic "I Love Trash," you-know-who's "C Is for Cookie," and Big Bird's Big Finale, a rendition of "Sing" that includes the entire cast.
