My name is Jamie and I live in Bethesda, MD. Ever since I can remember, I have had a passion for . . . ok ok . . . obsession for . . . finding the best deals. My family and friends have been begging me for such a long time to write a book about my greatest and craziest finds over the years, including the hysterical stories that go with them. For example, I found a Vera Wang wedding dress for my wedding for $800 and then was able to sell it on ebay for $1000 after my wedding.
There was a point in my graduate school days where I was clipping coupons and living as frugally as possible in order to survive, but, fortunately, those times have passed. However, since I still have this obsession for deals, I now use my expertise to find things that are FUN. The items or experiences you don't necessarily NEED, but would love to have. Let's get real - do I really NEED 3 new magazines coming to my door every day? Of course not - but when they are free or I received a crazy discount on them, it just brightens my day when they arrive. I know many of you feel the same way.
The finds on this blog tend to be geared to those things that I like as a working mom in her thirties. However, I try to search for and post about a wide variety of finds for women and men of all ages. I also have included a specific section related to only the Washington DC region (where I live) that includes information about upcoming events, discounts, freebies, restaurant reviews, and more. Also, I love to find unique gifts. Thus, you'll notice that I often post about great gifts for every occasion.
I started this blog over 4 years ago to share my daily finds and deals with my friends and family. It has unexpectedly taken off and drawn interest from strangers all across the country. This interest and the responses that I have received have encouraged me to spend the time and energy to take my simple blog to a new level. Therefore, my loyal readers will notice that I have created this new revamped and restyled site which I am very excited about. It hopefully will enable me to deliver the best and most fun daily finds to my readers as soon as they become available in an organized and easy-to-use setting.
